Helping is a way of saying,
"I believe in you and what you stand for."

BirthMom Buds operates a pretty large website and organization that provides emotional support to birthmoms through our unique buddy system, hosted chats, newsletter, links, and more! We also have a program for mentoring potential birthmoms, a care package program for recently placed birthmoms, as well as a program educating the medical community about adoption and how a birthmother feels.

The founders of BirthMom Buds are both faith believers and would never want anyone to feel pressured into donating. We know God will supply all our needs according to his riches and glory. (Phil. 4:19) Please only give if you feel it in your heart or truly believe in our cause.

Healing Hearts by Sending Hope

Right after a birthmom places her child, there is a grief period of pain and loneliness.  Birthmoms are many times left with no one to comfort them after the birth and placement of their baby. We would like to send a care package full of goodies to help comfort and offer support to new birthmoms in pain. Now, we know a small package cannot make their hearts stop hurting, but we hope knowing they are thought of and not alone might help a little and put a smile on their face - even if it's only for a moment.

We typically send out the care packages between four to six weeks post placement as this is the time that got the toughest for the Founders. It was the time when life around us was starting to get back to normal but we were still grieving. It was one of the times we felt most alone so we aim to send the care package around this time, when they are at least expecting it.

In order for this program to work, we need your help! We are looking for donations of items to send to new birthmoms.  We plan to include the following in the care packages:

Updated as of March 2006 - We have made a few changes to our care packages in order to save money on postage. Shipping baskets was becoming expensive, so now we have decided to package everything in a tote bag. This makes a nice spot to hold everything and is easier and cheaper to ship. We are also now wanting smaller stuffed animals, about the size of a beanie baby.

  • A journal and pen- because writing can be healing

  •  A picture frame (4x6 size) or small photo album

  • A stuffed animal - so the birthmom will have something to cuddle with (Beanie Baby Size)

  • Inspirational book and book mark (The books have already been donated by The Bible Factory Outlet!).

  • Candles or bath stuff - to pamper the birthmom

  • Small toys such as bubbles, play dough, books, coloring books, and crayons ~ This is so we can include a little something for our birthmoms who parent other children.

  • Greeting cards - thinking of you cards or blanks cards

  • Blank CDs and CD cases (We are making a CD of adoption related songs for the care packages.)

  • We also accept monetary donations for shipping supplies and shipping.

We appreciate your support! Please help bring a woman feeling lost and alone HOPE AGAIN.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.  Also, if you'd like to donate items, please email BirthMom Buds for a mailing address.

If your church group or a different community organization would be interested in donating items, please email us. We have flyers about the donations needed and other information available to help you!  Also, please email us for a mailing address!
