Meet Ciara:

Hi there!! My name is Ciara I have a Beautiful 3 year old son named Owen and
a Beautiful birth daughter named Taylie. She was born December 18, 2005 and
placed December 20, 2005 in a fully open adoption. I am currently not
married, and I work for a medical supply company doing office work.  I like
spending time with Owen reading, shopping, and just being me. :)
 

Ciara's Story:

I guess it all started in October of 2004. I was going through what I
guess you could call a “party phase”. In other words I was definitely not
making good choices and was hanging out with the wrong crowd of people. This
went on for a couple months. New years eve 2004 I met Mark. The state of
mind I was in definitely made me think he was “the one” and I thought we
were going to be together forever. Needless to say, the drinking and things
got a lot worse than they already were, clouding my perception and judgment
even more.  We began having sex, unprotected at that, fully knowing we could
conceive a child quite easily.

In may I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant. I immediately thought we could
raise the baby and be “happily ever after” while possibly continuing our
party lifestyle that we had become accustomed to.

Well, bad turned to worse, and I came to realize he was not the person I had
believed him to be. I took a long hard look at my life and the way I was
running it, and decided that was definitely not what I wanted for my life,
my son’s life nor my unborn baby’s. So I decided to break up with him.  It
became very clear to me that I could not associate with hi anymore if I
wanted my life to go in the direction, of church and family etc.

Shortly after that I decided on an adoption plan for my baby. It was
interesting because I was standing there one day and it hit me that this
baby needed to go to somebody who could give it everything I couldn’t,
including a mother and father and a wonderful place to grow up.  So I went
to an agency ran by my church and told a case worker there what I had
decided.  That was the first of many amazing experiences. From that moment
on I never ever wondered of I made he right decision or not. I have never
had something be so clear in my mind.

I continued on with the agency and made a choice for a family for her. They
are two of the most wonderful people I have ever met, and I really don’t
think I could have picked anyone better for her to go to.

Taylie Ciara was born December 18, 2005 at 737 pm she weighed 7lbs. 1 oz.
And was 19 inches long. Her adoptive parents came to see both of us in the
hospital the night after she was born.  The next amazing experience: being
able to see a woman who has waited so so long for her baby to be brought
into this world hold her child for the first time. :)

Taylie and I left the hospital on Tuesday December 20, 2005. I took her home
for a few hours and then that night was the placement. My family and I spent
almost two hours with the adoptive parents. It felt like chatting with one
big happy family. I placed my baby in her mothers arms shortly after nine
thirty that evening.
To see the joy I was able to bring these people is amazing. I actually
consider myself quite lucky for our Father in heaven to have picked me to
bring this beautiful girl into these people’s lives. I must have been really
good up there to deserve that.

Things with the birth father never did really pan out. I talked to him a few
times after we broke up, but sadly he never know when she was born or really
any other information. But it is all for the best I believe.

As you can probably see, I feel I truly have been blessed in all that has
happened, I am more than grateful to have been through this experience and
learned so much about myself and about life.
